He currently serves as an external adviser to DG&A Abogados, supporting the Labour Law, Social Security, Labour Litigation and Immigration practice areas. He was an Assistant Justice of the Labour Chamber of Colombia’s Supreme Court from the last quarter of 2021 until the end of January 2023, and for five years he headed the Labour and Immigration Law practices at Garrigues Colombia. He has extensive experience in corporate labour advisory work, including the implementation of collective pacts and agreements, labour litigation, conducting legal audits on labour, pension and parafiscal matters, and representing clients before the Ministry of Labour in administrative proceedings, among other activities.

Felipe Garcia Echeverri

Former Justice and Vice-President of Colombia’s National Electoral Council, and former Ambassador of Colombia to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Head of Mission to the European Union and to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Until 2014 he headed the Labour Law and Litigation Departments. A lawyer specialised in Socio-Economic Sciences and Labour Law, he advises companies on legal matters involving individual and collective labour issues as well as social security. He oversaw multiple employer substitutions during the privatisation of public-service companies and represented private-sector employers in sector-wide collective bargaining within the electricity industry.

Lawyer from Universidad de los Andes, with an LL.M. in Corporate and Financial Law from Columbia University (New York). He has more than 25 years of experience advising national and multinational companies on mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, infrastructure projects, compliance, and ESG matters in Colombia and across Latin America. He was a Partner at Garrigues in Colombia, where he led the M&A, Corporate, and Labor practices, and is a founding partner of De la Calle, Londoño, López & Posada. He has participated in highly complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions and restructuring processes, and regularly advises boards of directors and senior executives on strategic matters and corporate responsibility. He is also a professor in the MBA programs at Universidad de los Andes, teaching courses on corporate governance, ESG, and directors’ duties.
